Project Story

Willmott Dixon Interior’s fit-out specialist team are extremely proud to be enhancing facilities at the world famous National Gallery on Trafalgar Square. Working closely with the architect, Purcell, the project involves the complete refurbishment of Room 32, the largest gallery within the National Gallery. Furthermore, back-of-house works include the removal of an existing office structure within the Sunley Lightwell and the erection of infill extensions to the Sunley and Belvedere Lightwells to provide new commercial space to accommodate for additional offices and workspace areas for staff.
Key Challenges
  • Minimising nuisance including noise and disturbance
  • Coordination of deliveries with the National and Portrait Galleries due to location and high level security and safety aspects
  • Working in a live environment around visitors and staff in Gallery 32 and back of house areas
