BioCity Discovery Building

A new state of the art life sciences incubator offering approximately 80,000 sq ft of space set out over 5 floors has been created to support more than 700 new bioscience roles in the city over the next 30 years.

Facilities created include; containment Level 3 ( CL3) specialist laboratories, containment Level 2 general laboratories, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Life Science laboratories, fume cupboards ( 78no), gas/waste solvent stores, water purification system, modern office space, and conference and meeting facilities.

BIM Level 2 was a key factor in the project delivery and instrumental in the coordination of architectural, structural and service elements. This resulted in numerous time savings. The building was handed over to a delighted customer 2 weeks early and is expected to act as a catalyst to bring more life science employers to the region.
