Wilmott Dixon Interiors are pleased to announce the successful completion of The Old Court House project, for Royal Borough of Kingston.
The project, worth £2.6 million was secured through SCAPE framework and delivered within 21 weeks.
The Old Court House, which was a former magistrates’ court will now become the new home of the RBK Registration Services which includes; births, deaths and marriages.
Majority of the works in the building took place on the ground floor except for mechanical and electrical changes further up the floors for ventilation and air flow.
WDI restored and refurbished existing features and furniture for joinery items which was part of the council’s heritage requirements. Further works involved removals of concrete slabs in toilet area, instillation of new toilets, structural openings for doorways, block work, cleaning, sanding and decorations.
Refurbishing the ground floor of the main council building with the upper floors occupied as well as the requirement of sensitively refurbishing and restoring heritage features were some of the challenges achieved successfully by WDI’s Project team.
