Project Story
Willmott Dixon were appointed for the substantial refurbishment of two city centre buildings to provide new offices for Leicester City Council staff.
The project involved major works to convert a 75-year-old building into a new civic centre for the city plus the internal refurbishment of a nearby 1960s office block to create local authority offices fit for the 21st century.
In addition to sensitive restoration of original Art Deco features, our skilled team also created new committee and function rooms to allow the city council to hire out spaces at the venue for weddings and
functions. We also transformed the old rates hall, where residents used to pay their taxes, into a function room which can be hired by members of the public, as well as the revamping of an auditorium and conference rooms.
