Last week, Willmott Dixon Interiors linked up with the National Communities Resource Centre to deliver an inspirational training course for 19 unemployed young people from across the UK.
‘Good to Go!’ was a residential course which brought young people from London, Manchester, Liverpool and Wales together with eight of our management trainees and three experienced trainers, to help develop their team working and employability skills.
The course was a huge success. We asked what people they enjoyed most about it:
‘Meeting new people from different backgrounds and also learning more about construction industry’ – Nicholas, London
‘Built up confidence to speak and get involved with people I’ve just met’ – Brian, Manchester
‘It was interesting to meet different people from different backgrounds and with so many different interests. The trainers were extremely motivating, and knew how to get the spirits in the room going. I would definitely like to participate in such a programme again!’ – Nour, WDI Management Trainee
All the young people who attended now have an opportunity to gain an accreditation with the Open College Network and access to 6 months of buddy support with one of our management trainees.
