Nick Openshaw is Head of Interior Design and Architecture at Willmott Dixon Interiors, bringing more than 40 years of experience to the role. Starting his career as an apprentice, he has progressed to leading teams within award-winning organisations and shaping high-performing design environments.

He has built and led a multi-disciplinary Design Studio operating across three UK offices, as well as the UAE and India. His portfolio spans workplace, retail, leisure, and education projects in the UK and internationally, alongside technical leadership experience within the UK defence sector.

Nick combines creative direction with technical expertise, ensuring that design solutions are commercially robust, operationally effective, and aligned with client objectives from concept through to completion.

Technical Apprentice Programme

Apprenticeships are a great route into construction. At Willmott Dixon, apprenticeships are available in our business support teams and also through our supply chain partners or our sister company, Fortem, in trade disciplines such as bricklaying.

We offer some entry level positions for those who are looking to take their first steps into construction. With a paid apprenticeship you will earn while you learn and obtain a Level 3 qualification. You can apply following GCSEs; you don’t to have a construction background to complete an apprenticeship.

Work Experience

Work experience is a great way to get an insight into working at Willmott Dixon and is an ideal opportunity to experience the different jobs available, whether you are new to the world of work or looking for a change in career.
