Project Story
Project Brief
We were appointed via the Southern Construction Framework (SCF) to deliver a new police station for Thames Valley Police (TVP) at Atlantic House in Reading.
The brief was to repurpose three floors of office space, providing TVP with a facility that delivers the operational requirements for the area. Completion of the project would allow TVP to consolidate its operations, and transition from its former premises.
Project Solution
We carried out a full refurbishment of more than 37,000 sq ft across three floors of Atlantic House, transforming the space into a modern, operationally efficient police station. The works included new ceilings, partitions, high-quality finishes, and upgraded MEP systems to ensure long-term performance.
The design focused on functionality and staff wellbeing, with new locker and shower facilities, as well as communal breakout areas to support collaboration. Sustainability was embedded throughout, with improvements targeting BREEAM ‘Very Good’ and reducing the building’s environmental impact.
Project Outcome
- A modern, efficient police station for TVP
- Enhanced wellbeing and collaborative facilities for staff
- Reduced environmental impact through sustainable design and MEP systems
- Delivered via SCF with strong stakeholder engagement
- Social value through local supplier partnerships, engagement with schools and colleges, and employment opportunities
