Project Story

Willmott Dixon Interiors are proud to have been chosen to deliver the refurbishment of two buildings at the Tyseley Energy Park to provide incubation space for fledgling low-carbon energy businesses. The contract was awarded via the Pagabo Refit & Refurbishment procurement framework.
The 10-week project included refurbishing the Jelson unit, a small factory with attached offices and a separate office building which was partially occupied by landlord, Webster & Horsfall Limited, during the works.
The works included partial strip out of existing MEPH services at the Jelson unit and the installation of new services throughout, including new chiller and space heaters. Some existing non-structural walls were demolished in both buildings and a new steel beam was also added to support the upper floor in the office building to allow the removal of a structural wall.
The project has created almost 14,000 sq ft of open plan office and industrial warehouse space that will be let to small businesses in the energy sector. It will be carried out in conjunction with the University of Birmingham’s Energy Institute SME Engagement Programme, ATETA.
