Willmott Dixon Interiors complete the fit out and refurbishment of Twickenham Stadium’s East Stand

Willmott Dixon Interiors are delighted to have completed the fit out of the East stand at the iconic Twickenham Stadium, just in time for this years’ autumn internationals.  nearly 7,000 premium ticket holders can now enjoy improved hospitality at the home of English Rugby Union.

Twickenham’s new East Stand officially opened in time for England’s game against South Africa in autumn 2018 after we delivered a full 120,000 sq ft refit. With a value of £34 million, the fit-out included the full strip out, refurbishment and upgrades to Level 1 and Level 2 of the existing East Stand hospitality facility and the fit-out of the new build shell and core works to levels 3, 4, 4A and 5.

Rugby goers can also enjoy a wide variety of rugby themed hospitality areas in the new East Stand including the British Airways Rose Garden, The East Wing, The Club House Restaurant and The Lock which is to be run by celebrity chef Tom Kerridge.

Interiors biggest at a stadia

This is the biggest scheme for Willmott Dixon Interiors at a UK sports stadium, giving Twickenham a major extension of its current hospitality and conferencing facilities.

Each level is distinctive in design with rugby themes subtly embedded, celebrating and bringing to life the unique aspects of the home of England Rugby, and delivering a truly bespoke hospitality experience.

Nils Braude, Catering and C&E director at Twickenham, said:

“We are very excited to offer over six new event spaces as a result of our East Stand refurbishment. The variety of space on offer adds to the wealth of options for events at Twickenham, especially for bespoke events and private hire.”

Graham Shaw, Managing Director of Willmott Dixon Interiors said:

“This is a fantastic project to deliver. The new space provides a first class experience for fans to enjoy and takes hospitality at Twickenham to the next level; we are extremely proud to be helping transform this iconic stadium.”

The new East Stand space focuses primarily on the match-day experience following the launch of England Rugby Hospitality, a new venture which sees the Rugby Football Union (RFU) become the exclusive provider of all hospitality at Twickenham Stadium from autumn 2018, supported by long-standing official hospitality agent Keith Prowse.

On non-match days, the new event spaces present a range of new opportunities for corporate events and a wide variety of private functions throughout the year, which will be managed by Twickenham Experience.

Twickenham is not the only iconic building Willmott Dixon Interiors has transformed, having recently completed the new Design Museum in Kensington and currently working on the historic and world famous Old Admiralty Building in Horseguards Parade.
