Maintaining our position as an award winning company
It is great to receive recognition for our projects and initiates and in 2018 we were extremely proud to receive a variety of awards. We received an award at the BIM Show Live Awards for the Doing it: Contractor category which looks for evidence of BIM adoption level and implementation on projects within the past 12 month. Our project 39 Victoria Street also won an award this year at the London Construction Awards for our initiatives towards Sustainable Construction. BIM was also used on the project to successfully design and deliver an attractive, yet highly cost effective and sustainable building for DoH which helped Willmott Dixon Interiors win ‘Best overall BIM project’ at the RICS’ BIM4SME awards.
Creating a sustainable future and maintaining our Social Responsibility
We believe that business growth should not be at the expense of people or the planet. This year we have increased our local spend on projects to 88% within 40 miles and by 2020 are aiming to reduce our Carbon Emissions by 50%. In an industry that is responsible for more than half of the UK’s waste it is essential that sustainability is in the forefront of each of our projects. As well as creating brilliant spaces and buildings, we also aim to positively shape and inspire the lives of others and empower them be the best possible versions of themselves. With each of our projects we look at ways to give back to the local communities whilst also adding value to their lives. Alongside the refurbishment of Grove Park Youth Club, we ran an empowering lives programme with youths from the area to help them to build upon their skills and increase their chances of employment. BOSP
This year we have been supporting the charity BOSP. Based in Essex, the charity helps to improve the lives of young adults and children with life limiting conditions or illnesses by providing respite care away from home. The fantastic team at BOSP provide fun and exciting activities which provide social opportunities for the children as well as allowing families to have that, at times, much need respite. From purchasing Christmas presents for all the children and families to raising money for the charity through ticket sales at this year’s Construction Rocks, we have raised upwards of £6000, with this total still yet to increase. We have really enjoyed working alongside the team at BOSP and are looking forward to what the future holds.
