Open Doors Inspiring The Next Generation

Open Doors took place across 19th – 24th March, which gave the general public a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes of our construction sites and heritage buildings.

We opened the doors to three of our sites; Old Admiralty Building, St Martins Place and Twickenham Stadium. Each site demonstrated exciting career opportunities through career workshops, site tours, Q&A sessions and much more to help motivate the next generation to choose a rewarding career in construction.

Check out what each of our sites got up to!

Old Admiralty Building

The project will see our team transform Old Admiralty into a modern working environment, including upgrading the building services to introduce new mechanical ventilation and environmental controls, plus future proofing space for government offices in the long-term.

We kicked off Open Doors at our Old Admiralty Building site through our EDI Initiative to discuss and debate around the topic of diversity in the construction industry and how we can embed positive cultural and behavioural changes to inspire the next generation to build a career in the construction industry.

This event saw influential industry heads come together to debate on key factors that can help attract and retain the best talent in the construction industry including; recruiting from a diverse background, tackling the gender gap and adapting to behavioural and cultural changes such as agile working and learning from other industries.

Site tours taking place with Students from Marleybone Girls School and influential industry heads.
