NHS staff to benefit from new amenities at London’s Wellington House

Willmott Dixon Interiors has completed the refurbishment of a government office building in Central London that has modernised amenities for NHS staff.

We have upgraded 1,500 sq ft of Wellington House, Waterloo Road.

Existing toilet blocks have been stripped out and updated throughout the nine-storey building, to provide new male, female, and gender neutral disabled WCs, that are compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).


Low level sinks and zip taps have been installed within newly refurbished tea points on the first, second and third floors, and adaptations have been made to the building’s existing mechanical and electrical system.

The phased refurbishment was carried out in a live office environment to reduce disruption to building users, including NHS operational and administrative teams. It was designed in-house by Willmott Dixon Interiors and completed in 24 weeks.

The project is the latest we have delivered for the customer, following the transformation of three floors of Quarry House, a landmark office building in Leeds.

“A central London refurbishment typically delivers challenges in access restrictions and we are grateful for the flexibility of our on-site team and supply chain in changing shift patterns to suit the demands of the project. By coordinating activities with key stakeholders, they have ensured that the building remained safe and operational at all times.”

Our refurbishment of Wellington House was completed alongside a supply chain that included LDC Projects, CES M&E Services, Formwise Washrooms, Henny, Avenue Flooring, IBuild Interior Services and Tarem Services.
