Project Story
Project Brief
After the success of delivering the CAT B fit-out and refurbishment of 64,583 sq ft of commercial office space at Quarry House, level 2 in Leeds, we were appointed to complete refurbishment works on level 8 on behalf of the Department of Health.
The project will be delivered within a live environment and originally delivered within COVID-19 government guidelines. An additional challenge the project team faced was due to access restrictions as the goods lift that was the primary access for materials is down 80% of the time.
The project has been procured under the Scape National Framework.
Project Solution
The project will deliver the modernisation of the internal arrangements on a single-level, large floor plate.
Utilising a new office design and layout of circa 120 desks, the area will be made up of a mixture of fixed and hot-desking facilities with all ancillary and support facilities provided within the self-contained office floor. The new spaces designed by our inhouse interior design team has modernised the workplace experience, with a variety of different spaces, open collaboration spaces and a more fluid circulation.
Higher ceilings and brighter colours have made the spaces lighter, and the barriers between workspaces, collaboration spaces, breakout and refreshment areas have been minimised to improve the wellbeing of the workforce.
Project Outcome
On completion, the project will deliver:
- New CAT B office accommodation for approximately 130 staff members.
- 63% of spend within 10 miles of the project site.
- 56% of labour from within 10 miles of the project site.
In addition, the project achieved an exemplary overall score of 45 out of 45 within the CCS report.
