Following on from the success of the WDI Trainee Challenge; the community investment refurbishment of the Calthorpe Project community centre in Kings Cross, WDI’s Your Say Your Voice (YSYV) team came up with an excellent way to further our great relationship with the project by holding the first annual WDI summer festival in the newly refurbished festival area.
The h
ype in the week leading up to the event was palpable; with a countdown display in the breakout area and countless discussions of what people were going to be wearing. To add to the theme of “festival chic” a lovely touch from the YSYV team was that on the morning of the festival all office staff arrived to find a pair of funky shades specifically chosen for them on their desk. Don’t worry the site teams weren’t forgotten and were given a pair on arrival that afternoon.
At 4pm, majority of staff were arriving at the Calthorpe Project to find a lovely array of food and drink to sample and brilliant live music from Elliott Jett. After a couple of hours WDI’s very own Aaron Farrell stepped up as DJ for the night as our headline act pulled out last minute due other commitments.
All of this meant that WDI continued to support the Calthorpe project which turned out to be a great event.
