Meeting net-zero targets
Climate change is real. There is an urgent need for new buildings to be net-zero carbon in operation and created with low levels of embodied carbon, and for existing buildings to be upgraded and improved. and future buildings to be created with low levels of embodied carbon and be net-zero carbon in operation.
Many organisations find it easy to define net-zero aspirations, but then find it hard to access the skill sets that can enable a decarbonisation strategy. A strong plan must include a clear route to decarbonise your buildings with opportunities to enhance environmental sustainability and improve energy resilience.
This is where we can help. We can assess your progress to date; understand your estate, develop a decarbonisation plan, identify funding solutions, design a realistic capital programme, and bring an actionable plan to life.
Case Studies
Achieving a 56% reduction in CO2 across four Oxford leisure centres by replacing gas boilers with heat pumps.
Oxford City Council wants to be a net-zero-carbon city by 2040 or earlier – 10 years ahead of the government’s national legal target. Even more ambitious is the council’s goal to reach zero-carbon across its own estate and operations by 2030.

Birmingham’s biggest office fit-out and refurbishment scheme at 10 Brindleyplace
Our construction team in the Midlands worked in partnership with Willmott Dixon Interiors to deliver the full refit and refurbishment of Birmingham’s landmark 10 Brindleyplace office block on behalf of CBRE Global Investors.
The back-to-the-frame transformation has seen 10 and 8 Brindleyplace combined into one building, creating open office spaces totalling 212,000 sq ft over twelve floors. It’s is also one of Birmingham’s largest available floorplates at over 27,000 sq ft.
Creating a 100% electric and zero carbon 110,000 sq ft workspace in an iconic London location.
We are working with investment firm FORE Partnership to transform an out-of-date 1990s office building next to Tower Bridge into one of the UK’s most sustainable and healthy offices.
Reflecting FORE’s commitment to retrofit first rather than rebuild, the existing five-storey building will be stripped back and renewed through a deep refurbishment, preserving the embodied carbon in the frame. Two floors will be added, with a third additional floor set back from Tower Bridge to create a terrace and club room.
