Willmott Dixon Interiors has donated thousands of Easter Eggs to help put a smile on children’s faces this Easter.
Easter Eggs were donated to SMILE London & Essex, Birmingham Central Foodbank, Leeds Mencap, and multiple food bank charities.
Reaching our target
To help support our selected charities, our people purchased Easter Eggs during their weekly shop and dropped them off at our offices and sites across London, Midlands and Leeds. The target of 1000 was exceeded with a whooping 3518 Easter Eggs. This not only helped us donate to our selected charities but also share them across other charities in need including; Sparkhill Good Bank, St Marys Hospice, Helping Hands of Birmingham, Good Shepherds Ministry, Sheffield Children’s Hospital and Hope for Sutton.
In the Midlands, a large donation was sent to Birmingham Central Foodbank, which is part of The Trussell Trust. The charity, based in Birmingham is working to “combat poverty and hunger across the UK” by supporting local people who are in need of emergency food. The Trussell Trust supports a nationwide network of food banks. They campaign to end the need for food banks in the UK. In the last financial year, 1.9m food bank parcels were given to people in crisis.

In the South, a donation was sent to SMILE London & Essex, based in Romford. The purpose of the charity is to support 22 family hostels throughout the two counties, providing essential items to aid the transition from Hostel to Home for their clients. SMILE stands for Support, Motivate, Invest, Lead and Evolve. They lead on multiple targeted appeals each year, with the Easter Egg donations being one of them.

Our Quarry House project team in Leeds supported Leeds Mencap who aims to provide opportunities for young people and children with learning disabilities. It was founded over 65 years ago and has supported more than 450 families and individuals. They help by offering advice and support, with the goal of individuals with learning disabilities being able to achieve their ambitions in life. As well as hosting parent and carer support groups, they run a range of clubs and activities so the children and young people can socialise and build friendships with their peers in a welcoming environment where they are supported.
