Open Doors 2018  will see Willmott Dixon Interiors open live construction sites to the public who wish to pursue a career in construction. This will allow the public to go behind the scenes and see a huge variety of professions within the construction industry and demonstrate the kinds of careers available.

Willmott Dixon Interiors are opening doors to Old Admiralty Building and St Martins Place as part of the week-long event from 19th – 23rd March, aimed at attracting young people  and career changers to consider and explore a dynamic and exciting career in the construction industry.

Old Admiralty Building 

Willmott Dixon Interiors are transforming the world famous Old Admirality Building into a new home for The Department for Education.

Most recently occupied by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Old Admiralty Building has housed some of the most famous figures in history, including former Prime Minister Winston Churchill when he was First Lord of the Admiralty, and James Bond author – and former naval intelligence officer – Ian Fleming, whose renowned ‘Room 39’ was located inside the walls during World War II.

The project will see our team transform Old Admiralty into a modern working environment, including upgrading the building services to introduce new mechanical ventilation and environmental controls, plus future proofing space for government offices in the long-term.

St Martins Place 

Willmott Dixon Interiors are delivering a high-end boutique hotel refurbishment at 7-8 St Martins Place in central London.

The scheme to create St Martins Place Hotel close to Trafalgar Square will see the company convert an existing five-storey office block into a 136-room hotel complete with a fifth floor restaurant as well as adding an additional floor for a new rooftop bar. The development for customer Best Effort Ventures will be further complemented with new retail in the basement and ground floor level, while the building will retain its existing Post Office.

Twickenham Stadium 

Willmott Dixon Interiors were appointed by Rugby Football Unioin to complete the fit out of the east stand.

This will include upgrading the internal hospitality facilties of the new east stand.
