Completing safely during Covid-19

Our Projects Below £3million team have successfully completed the Cat B fit out for Princess Alexandra Hospital Trust’s Kao Park office space in Harlow to house their back of house staff members outside of hospital premises, creating more hospital space for clinical specialists, also critical for fighting Covid-19.

DEFECT FREE HANDOVER AND AHEAD OF SCHEDULE

The project was completed defect free and handed over a week ahead of schedule in just 11 weeks, which also fell on the day the Trust marked their 55 year anniversary of caring for their patients across East Herts and West Essex .

ADAPTING WORKING PRACTISES

We are extremely proud to have been involved in a project that is helping to support our NHS and we are overly proud of our team who have been able to work under the current challenges to safely complete the 27,221 sq ft cat b fit out with social distancing measures in place, under the guidelines within the Site Operating Procedures produced by the Construction Leadership Council.

The site team adapted their working practices by implementing one way systems, extra space for welfare facilities, shift working patterns to reduce the number of people on site as well as hosting digital meetings and site walk-through via Microsoft Teams.

The project was procured via the Procurement Hub framework and will provide an agile and collaborative workplace for NHS staff in finance, HR and other supporting roles.

The full scope of works included; creation of bright breakout areas within open plan office space, meeting rooms and a welcoming reception area. This modern office space also offers agile ways of working with advanced technology implemented within a Skype room and a new meeting room booking system that permits meeting rooms to be booked via an app in any location, allowing flexibility for all NHS staff members to use the facility.
